Wrongfully Accused [HD]

A real pleasant surprise
(Actually, I'd rather give it 3.5 stars, but it's closer to 4 than 3.) After "Spy Hard", I was really prepared not to like "Wrongfully Accused". It has received flak enough in the papers, and I actually thought Leslie Nielsen had been playing this kind of part for too long and that there was nothing he could do that I hadn't seen before. Boy, was I wrong. He's just been warming up. Though not as funny as the first Naked Gun film (The film against which I now measure all comedies), it's way better than "Spy Hard". I laughed real hard at some small touches like the bouncing prisoner transport bus (it's not intelligent humour, okay, but it looked - and sounded - so silly, I had to laugh in spite of myself !), and the scene where Nielsen was chased by the derailed train from hell (The scene where the train "peeped" out from its "hiding place" - you gotta see it to understand it - was almost horrific enough for a horror movie!). And Richard Crenna...

Good movie, Good features, Full-Screen?
Besides Airplane! and the Naked Gun movies, this is definately one of Leslie Nielsen's funniest, spoofing over 35 movies, including THE FUGITIVE. You can watch this over and over and still laugh and laugh even throughout the entire credits. This was written, directed, and produced by Pat Proft, creator of the POLICE ACADEMY, NAKED GUN, and HOT SHOTS! films.

The DVD itself was released in 1998, the same year as the movie. For a movie and small as this in 1998, this DVD has lots of special features, more than some DVDs released today. This DVD features a DVD-ROM trivia game, an interview with the cast, many trailers, and a slide show. On top of that there are also two featurettes. The first, (VISUAL F/X) is located in the special features menu and is an 8-minute documentary of the special effects in the movie. The second, (PRODUCTION NOTES) is located in the "about the film" menu and is a 5-to-10-minute documentary about the movie itself and some additional special...

Leslie Nielsen, King of Slapstick
If you haven't watched this outragously funny movie, watch it because its a guarantee that it will keep you laughing till you gut busts, great spoof from famous movies and a really funny story to go with it, this movie has earned it's position as the greatest slapstick movie of all time, i recommend with this that you watch another classic slapstick comedy, 'Airplane'. 10/10.
